With Fantastic First-Quarter Arrival Numbers!
ORANJESTAD - Aruba keeps going strong in 2005! According to the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA), Aruba continued its upward trend in year-to-date visitors from the U.S., as the island celebrates another string of impressive increases in U.S. visitor arrival numbers in the first-quarter of 2005.
Posting noteworthy increases, January, February and March, all showed significant improvement over 2004 numbers. U.S. visitors to the island paradise were up an amazing 15.98% in January over the same month the previous year. February also showed a strong 7.40% up spike over 2004. But March was the most noteworthy month with a whopping 20.55% more U.S. arrivals year over year! These jaw-dropping numbers brings the year-to-date U.S arrival number up an incredible 14.68%, reinforcing Aruba’s title as the island where happiness lives.
Aruba’s fantastic first-quarter U.S. arrival numbers comes off the heels of the island’s record-setting 2004. 2004 in Aruba surpassed all expectations and went down in Aruban history as the best year ever for U.S. visitor arrivals as the tropical oasis welcomed over half-a-million North American jet-setters to its shores (marking 15.44% increase). “The strength and continuity of the positive numbers have reassured Aruba’s tourism sector that we are all doing our job,” said Minister of Tourism and Transportation, Edison Briesen. “We were absolutely thrilled with 2004 and from the indication of 2005’s first-quarter numbers we anticipate an even better year in Aruba.”
Whether it’s the near perfect weather (annual average temperatures of 82F), the island’s world renowned hospitality, the unique sporting, cultural and musical events, the breathtaking hotels/resorts and the unmatched sand, sun and fun, seasoned travelers continue to choose the island gem as a top Caribbean hot-spot. With Aruba not slowing down in 2005, the island will offer U.S. travelers so much to choose from including the Aruba International Golf Prom-Am (August 14-17), the first-ever SalsAruba (September 12- 18), the fourth annual Aruba Music Festival featuring Peter Frampton and Queen plus Paul Rogers (October 7- 8), the Aruba International Catamaran Regatta (November 4-12) and much more.
Additionally, Aruba’s innovative One Cool programs offer all types of visitors great options and discounts on a variety of activities. Aruba’s One Cool programs (offered year-round otherwise noted) include the One Cool Honeymoon, One Cool Family Vacation (offered April – September), One Cool Culinary and Culture, Once Cool Golf and Spa and the One Cool Adventure and Nightlife.
