HAVANA (PL) - Commonwealth of Dominica´s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said Friday the world owes a debt of gratitude to Cuba.

The Dominica official was referring to Cuba´s support to other nations in education and other fields.

After visiting Jose Marti secondary school in Old Havana, Skerrit said that Cuba provides his citizens with the best education in the whole planet.

He hailed Havana´s support to his tiny Caribbean island in education, a field he considered essential for every country´s development.

Skerrit said Dominica is striving to give all youngsters an access to education by next year.

In statements to Cuba´s National Information Agency (AIN), the Dominican official said he is here to examine aspects of bilateral cooperation with Cuban President Fidel Castro, whom he praised for his broad knowledge and information.

The Caribbean official arrived in Cuba early Friday for a four-day visit scheduled to end Monday.
