President Hu commends PM Spencer for his position on the “One China Policy”

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua - President of the People's Republic of China His Excellency Mr. Hu Jintao has written to Prime Minister the Hon. Baldwin Spencer thanking him for Antigua and Barbuda's support of the “One China Policy.”
In the letter, which was delivered to Ambasssador Sir David Shoul while he was recently in China, President Hu said that Prime Minister Spencer's position on the Taiwan issue demonstrates the support of the UPP Government to China's reunification and his commitment to Antigua and Barbuda's relations with China.
“I highly appreciate this position. The Chinese Government values China's friendship with Antigua and Barbuda and attaches great importance to developing relations with Antigua and Barbuda,” President Hu outlined in his letter.
President Hu also pointed out that his government will continue to work with the UPP administration to further promote the growth of friendship and cooperation that currently exist.
Recently, Prime Minister Spencer outlined that the relations that currently exist between both countries has grown tremendously since his administration came into office.
Since coming into office, Prime Minister Spencer has always made it clear that his Government strongly believes that there is only one China and the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal Government representing the entire Chinese people as outlined by the United Nations.
