GREAT BAY (GIS) – Governor Franklyn Richards who is also Local Chief of Police, is appealing to motorists to adhere to the traffic rules and regulations which have been formulated into law for the safety of road users.

“I was appalled to hear that there have been a number of hit and run cases. Drivers would leave the scene of an accident before police arrives.

“I am disappointed in the number of people who seem intent on flouting our traffic regulations. These rules are for everybody’s safety and I call on drivers to act and drive responsibly because you are putting the safety of others at risks besides yourself,” Governor Richards told the Government Information Service (GIS) on Thursday.

Governor Richards was referring to a report from the Traffic Department recently where out of five accidents, four of them the driver left the scene of the accident.
