BRIDGETOWN (MOH/MR/BGIS) -- The Ministry of Health is continuing to monitor an outbreak of chikungunya disease in the French overseas territories and Dutch St. Maarten. New cases have also been detected in one of the British Virgin Islands. However, no cases have been detected in Barbados to date.

(PAHO/WHO) --Country delegations from the Americas participating in the 52nd Directing Council of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) approved the PAHO Program and Budget 2014–2015 proposal today.PAHO Director of Planning and Budget Daniel Walter pointed out that the new budget, made up of assessed contributions from Member States and voluntary contributions, contains no increases in country contributions, taking into account the current international financial climate.
