St Kitts To Host Regional Under 19, Schedule Adjusted

ST JOHN’S, Antigua (WICB) -- The West Indies Cricket Board today announced that the Regional Under 19 Tournament 2013 will be played in St Kitts.

The tournament will now be played from July 17th to August 21st.

WICB had previously announced that the premier age group tournament will be played from July 10 to August 10 but the schedule has been pushed back by a week to accommodate preparatory camps of the various teams.

With regard to regulations for the Under 19 and the Under 17 and Under 15 tournaments, WICB outlined that all players under the age of 18 MUST wear protective helmets at all times whilst batting and fielding within 15 yards of the striker’s crease.

ALL wicketkeepers under the age of 18 MUST wear helmets when keeping up to the stumps.

An ICC Americas Under 21 Team will participate in the 50 Over leg of the Under 19 tournament.

WICB Regional Under 19: Players must be under the age of nineteen (19) years before 1st  September 2013. Therefore each such player must be born on or after 1st  September 1994.

WICB Regional Age Group Tournaments Schedule

  • Under 17 Tournament – June 29 – July 8 – Tobago
  • Under 15 Tournament – July 10 – 26 – Jamaica
  • Under 19 Tournament – July 17 – August 21 – St Kitts

The full schedule for each tournament will be announced once finalized.
