Leader of Government extends condolences to Maccou family

GREAT BAY - Leader of Government Commissioner Sarah Wescot-Williams, is expressing her condolences on behalf of the people and Island Government of St. Maarten to the Maccou family who lossed their loved one Ingrid Maccou, on Saturday due to a flash flood in the St. Peters/Saunders area.

Commissioner Wescot-Williams also extends her prayers to the family of Amareal Sumit Acharya who has been reported as missing due to the floods in the aforementioned area.

The people and Government are in solidarity with all those who have suffered during the flash floods caused by a cloud burst late Saturday.

"The Island Government will await field assessment reports of the situation and seek recommendations with respect to what has transpired," Leader of Government Commissioner Sarah Wescot-Williams told the Government Information Service (GIS) on Sunday.
