ORANJESTAD, STATIA - The Island of St. Eustatius will celebrate Statia-America day next week.
The activities are being organised by the St. Eustatius Festivities Committee.
The pre-Statia-America Day week of activities will be celebrated from Monday, November 9th – 16th, 2009.
The schedule of activities are listed below.
Monday, Nov. 9th Gospel Nite featuring Gospel singers, Choirs, mimers, & bands and hosted by Culture Department.
Tuesday, Nov. 10th Culturama Nite featuring presentations from various nationalities and locals on the island in dance, modeling, singing, magic show, and much more; Joey & Friends will entertain Wednesday, Nov. 11th Future Ambassadors’ Nite featuring our Youths on the island and abroad hosted by Mega-D & Orange Groove Band and Michu Laika will be in the town.
Thursday, Nov. 12th String Band Nite featuring string bands from Statia, Saba, & French St. Maarten also Nigga Bizznezz.
Friday, Nov. 13th Potpourri Nite featuring Colours Band, Odisi band out of Nevis, and a special Band returned due to popular demand on the island.
Saturday, Nov. 14th International Nite featuring Andrew Dick & Alida Brown Show out of St. Maarten and Oddyssee Band from St. Maarten.
Sunday, Nov. 15th Golden Rock Regatta Nite with the Regatta in town and featuring Minus 2 and Pantha Vibes out of Anguilla Leroy Paul a.k.a. Conqueror out of Trinidad and Reinier Lijfrock from Curacao.
Monday, Nov. 16th Salute & Tribute Nite featuring Rebels Band; Caribbean Boys out of Holland & Onyon out of Antigua; and at 12 o’clock fireworks climaxing Statia-America Day and week of Activities 2009.
