HAVANA (PL) - Surinam's National Assembly President Slamet Somohardjo, and Cuba's Ricardo Alarcon exchanged views on issues of common interest.

The visitor and his accompanying delegation will meet with a commission for assistance to local People's Power authorities, and officials of the Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Ministry, as well as visit the Latin American School of Medicine and the Carlos J. Finlay Institute, Granma newspaper reported.

Somohardjo laid Tuesday a wreath to Cuban National Hero Jose Marti at the capital's Revolution Square, visited the memorial monument that bears his name, and met with officials of the International Relations department at the Party's Central Committee.

Somohardjo was also interested in learning about the life of Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, who he admired since he was young.
