CIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba (pl) - High tourism winter season began in Cuba with the arrival of 300 British tourists in the Cuban resort Jardines del Rey, in the northern coast of this central province.
Organized by the British travel agency Thomas Cook, one of the most important tourist companies in the world, visitors arrived at Cayo Coco International Airport on Sunday.
Thomas Cook is one of the main tour operators in the Cuban north keys, told Prensa Latina Pedro Alfredo Gutierrez, representative of the Tourism Ministry in Ciego de Avila.
At the resort arrive 12 flights weekly. During the winter season, flights increase up to 35, mainly from Canada, England and Argentina, he pointed out.
The tourist region Jardines del Rey contributed to the 2 million foreign visitors to Cuba reached in the last days, despite the economical crisis affecting the world and the sanitarian situation in almost all countries.
Jardines del Rey is an enviable place because it gives tourist the opportunity of enjoying marine flora and fauna and an excellent natural environment.
This resort located in the northern keys Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo has an accommodation capacity of 4,000 rooms in 14 hotels and villas.
