Candidate Question Panels To Cover All 19 Districts

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman (CNS) -- The Chamber of Commerce candidate forums, where election hopefuls will be quizzed on key topics in their districts ahead of polling day, will take place in each of the new 19 constituencies where there is more than one candidate.

In each forum the candidates contesting a specific seat will answer questions from Chamber members and the public. The first will take place in the Sister Islands on Friday, 7 April, for candidates running in Cayman Brac East (CBE). Then on Saturday, 8 April, those running in Cayman Brac West and Little Cayman (CBWLC) will get their turn.

Both the Brac forums will take place at the Veterans and Seamen’s Society Hall, starting at 7pm, and will be broadcast on Rooster.

The forums then move to Grand Cayman, where they start with the candidates running in East End on Monday 10 April  at the Clifton Hunter High School at 7pm. That forum will be broadcast on Rooster FM and Cayman 27. Candidates for North Side will then appear at the same venue on Tuesday evening, which will again be broadcast on radio and TV.

The forums will then move into the various constituencies in Bodden Town, George Town and West Bay. The last forum will take place in George Town Central on Thursday 11 May at the George Town Town Hall, where, unless there are some changes ahead on Nomination Day, Premier Alden McLaughlin will go head-to-head with his former political assistant, Kenneth Bryan.
