Tobago Jazz Experience In The Air- Lauryn Hill Confirmed As A Headline Act
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (GISL) -- Easter is approaching, and with it comes the taste of “Jazz”. That’s the Tobago Jazz Experience, of course.
The event was launched on January 21 at the Scarborough Library Facility, and will feature headline acts such as R&B star Lauryn Hill, legendary reggae band Third World, Barbados-born saxophonist
Arturo Tappin and local acts such as renowned trumpeter Etienne Charles, 3 Canal, David Rudder, Roy Cape and Blaxx, Farmer Nappy, Benjai and Patrice Roberts.
Despite having its budget trimmed to $15 million, the event will provide a thrill for local and visiting patrons alike, Secretary of Tourism and Transportation Tracy Davidson-Celestine.
“This is event is all about selling Destination Tobago,” the Deputy Chief Secretary said. “The investment that we make on an annual basis in the Tobago Jazz Experience is all about trying to ensure hotel rooms or guest houses or Bed and Breakfast properties can benefit from the thousands who come here on annual basis for the festival.”
Communications company Flow is the platinum sponsor for the nine (9) day event.
