NHT Refunds At Two More Outlets In January 2016
KINGSTON (JIS) -- The National Housing Trust (NHT) has entered into new arrangements with Jamaica National Money Transfer and Victoria Mutual Money Transfer Services to facilitate the payment of contribution refunds as of January 1, 2016. This will bring the total number of methods of payment to NHT contributors to four, with a turnaround time of 15 working days once all of the requirements have been satisfied. The existing arrangements of deposits being made to accounts held at commercial banks will continue. Contributors have the option of their refunds being lodged to a savings account at National Commercial Bank (NCB), Bank of Nova Scotia, Sagicor Bank Jamaica Ltd., CIBC First Caribbean International Bank or First Global Bank.
Contributors who have selected the bank account option are being reminded that the account must be an active savings account and that the account should be in the name of the person who is receiving the refund.
The option for persons to use NCB Prepaid Keycard Cash Cards will also be continued in 2016.
Contributors are also being advised that for NCB Keycard Cash payments to be processed, persons should apply to NCB for the card and receive the card prior to applying for the refund.
The application period for contribution refunds for 2008 will open on January 1, 2016 and the Trust is reminding persons that applications will only be received online.
The NHT is asking persons to ensure that the correct information, such as bank account numbers, is submitted to ensure the timely payment of refunds.
Persons applying for refunds for the remainder of 2015 will not have the option of the two money transfer services, which become effective on January 1.
